4th Global meeting of NGOs advocating for Road Safety and Road Victims

On March 13 and 14, 2015IFROS represented India on Road Safety Advocacy where more than 170 delegates from over 52 countries representing 100 non-governmental organizations gathered in at the Zalagh Kashbar Hotel & Spa in Marrakech, Morocco for the 4th Global Meeting of Nongovernmental Organizations Advocating for Road Safety and Road Victims which is organized by the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety. Dignitaries from the Moroccan Government including Mr Aziz Rabbah, Minister of Transport, Equipment and Logistics, Morocco, Dr Mohamed Najib Boulif Minister Delegate to the Minister of Logistics, Equipment and logistics in charge of transport, Morocco, Dr. Ahmed Boudak, Director of Hospitals and Outpatient Care, Ministry of Health, Morocco welcomed delegates including Dr. Etienne Krug, Director of the Department for Management of Noncommunicable Diseases, Disability and Injury Prevention at the World Health Organization, Mr. Marc Shotten, Senior Transport Specialist at Global Road Safety Facility, World bank, Mr. Shane O’Connor, Communications Advisor, FedEx, and Dr. Kate Allen, Health Systems Manager, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

2ndGlobal High-level conference on Road Safety

 On November 18-19, 2015 IFROS represented India on the 2nd High-level conference on Road Safety which is held in Brasilia, Brazil. More than 2,200 delegates from more than 110 countries, including 70 ministers of transport, health and interior gathered for the Conference. The Conference theme was “time for results,” and focused on achieving the road safety targets recently adopted as part of the Sustainable Development Goals as well as the goals outlined in the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020. More than 40 Alliance member NGOs including IFROS contributed to the conference through panel discussions and topic-specific side events aimed at advancing the global road safety agenda. SAFETY 206 (12th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion)

From 18-21 September 2016 IFROS represented Indian on 12th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion which was held in Tampere, Finland. The overall participants were 1100 from over 120 countries. The conference is hosted by the National Institute for Health and Welfare of Finland, co-sponsored by the World Health Organization and supported by the Government of Finland and Bloomberg Philanthropies. IFROS gave presentation on Non-motorized Vehicles in a special session of the conference.

5th Global Meeting of NGOs Advocating for Road Safety and Road Victims

From April 3-6, 2017 IFROS attended 5th Global Meeting of NGOs Advocating for Road Safety and Road Victimsheld at the Sama-Sama Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.200 delegates from more than 70 countries and represented Alliance member NGOs, multilateral and bilateral organizations and corporations. The meeting featured key note speakers including the Honorable Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai; Professor Wong, Director General, Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS); Dr. Etienne Krug, Director, Department for Management of Noncommunicable Diseases, Disability, Violence and Injury Prevention, WHO; Mr. Jean Todt, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety; Mr. Marc Shotten, Program Manager, Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF), World Bank; and Saul Billingsley, FIA Foundation.

The 2nd International Forum on vehicle driving training and road traffic safety

From June 15-17, 2017 IFROS attended The 2nd International Forum on vehicle driving training and road traffic safety held at Beijing, China.Nearly 500 delegates from more than 15 countries attended the meeting. The event was hosted by Govt. of China in technical partnership with Eastern Pioneer Driving School Co Ltd. IFROS gave presentation and speech on “Importance of driver training quality to road traffic safety education.
